Seminal identification patents awarded to Auditude in US and EU
Palo Alto, CA — Auditude announced that it was awarded seminal patents in both the United States and the European Union for their invention of fingerprinting technology that enables the identification of video clips featured across the Internet. Dating back as early as 2001, Auditude’s issued patents cover both the generation of fingerprints and the indexing and matching of fingerprints to reference fingerprints obtained from television programming. In addition, Auditude has pending applications related to video sharing, search, advertising and other applications of the fingerprinting technology.
“I am thrilled with the scope and generality of the claims that were allowed,” says Fenwick and West attorney Robert Hulse who represents the company’s IP portfolio. Six more patents have been filed to protect other aspects of the business and Robert is expecting those to be granted as well.
