“Last November, MySpace partnered with the Auditude ad platform to tackle the problem of monetizing illegal video content already living on its site. Auditude’s technology can fingerprint video clips a few seconds long and match them to prints in its 250-million-strong database of videos. Once it identifies the clip, Auditude will overlay information such as original air-date, name of show, and links to online stores for the video each time the clip is played. What’s more exciting is that Auditude will also overlay an ad in the video, enabling publishers to make money off their content regardless of who uploaded it.”
